"In Finland the teaching of media literacy is an every-day issue, and it has been delightful to notice how much work has already been done in this respect. The risks involved in the Internet use by young people (from viruses and protection of privacy to bad behaviour and pornography) have played a central role in the meeting. We want to remind everyone of the fact that this kind of a problem-centered view is not the only - and sometimes even not the most appropriate - way to discuss the Internet use by young people. Nevertheless, it has been extremely fruitful to be able to compare the state of media education in different cultures in Europe."
