The Automaten-Selbst-Kontrolle (ASK) is responsible for the evaluation and age rating of coin-operating screen playing equipments and software, which are used in commercially gambling houses. Since 1 April 2003 control of appropriate playing equipments is legally prescribed by the ASK. The age ratings and releases take place - as with FSK and USK - according to the age groups fixed in the protection of children and young people law (JuSchG).
