The Austrian Internet Ombudsmann co-operates with Austrian business, consumer and government organisations. It is a leading European alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service for customers and businesses.
The Internet Ombudsmann is a neutral and independent dispute resolution provider, which aims to resolve disputes arising from online shopping transactions between consumers and retailers.
Each contracting party, of an online shopping transaction, can make use of ombudsmann. The pre-requisites are that the consumer is residing in Austria and the retailer is a commercial seller, who has its place of business in the European Union. Finally, the parties must agree to settle the dispute out of court.
