by Amanda Lenhart, Pew - Pew Internet & American Life Project
Due to recent research of the PEW-Internet & American Life-Project 54 percent of US-american households with children aged between twelve and seventeen are using fliter technologies while surfing on the Internet; these are much more than in the year 2000.
Parents of teens are using filters to restrict access to harmful and illegal content. The majority of teens and parents reckons that the teens are doing things online their parents will not approve.
The survey of the Pew Internet Project was carried out between October, 26 and November, 28 2004 with 1.100 parent child interviews in representative households in the United States.
