Young persons have many 'online friends'
The study "Circuits of Cool" commissioned by Microsoft and MTV Networks analysed the behaviour of media use by children and young people in 16 states worldwide. Young persons have a tremendous use of the modern communication possibilities like chats, mobile phones or interactive tools and have many friends on the Internet.
The German young people have for example at an average 35 friends, the more sociable Brazilians 91 friends. But: 'real' friends in the neighbourhood are irreplaceable for the majority of the respondents.
