New cyberbullying bill in California introduced

A representative of the Californian Senate introduced an own bill as a result of the alarming increasing amount of cyberbullying cases according to 'Cnet'. Possible variants are for example the exposure of a victim on the Internet, permanently annoyance via SMS or to circulate false pretences. This phenomenon – also known as "cybermobbing" – is popularly understood as using recent information and communication technology to cause harm to other people. The new bill claims that students who use the Internet or the mobile phone to harass others could be suspended or expelled from school.

Experts say the biggest obstacle to combating cyberbullying is that the children are unlikely to report it. In contrast to ‚real-life bullying’ there is often no witness or physical scar to alert parents or teachers to a cyberbullying situation.
