Japanese police signed private investigators up to control the Internet

The police in Japan are planning to hire employees of private companies to patrol the Internet and search for illegal and harmful content. The investigators will not be authorized to take action against the operators, but to report the findings and consolidated information to the police.

The number of offences on the Internet has increased immensely, cheating at online business and child pornography are the main problems. To take action against this, Japan will invest about 172.000 Euro to employ Internet investigators.
