German teacher association claims for more efforts on youth protection on the Internet

Heinz-Peter Meiding, Federal Chairman of the German teacher association "DPHV" declares that children and young people are getting earlier confronted with harmful images and texts from the Internet, which is highly problematic from the pedagogical and psychological point of view. This development is even noticeable in German schools. Teachers and affected persons report more often from incidents. For example, porn or violent videos have been offered to a ten years old girl, to watch or download those by the help of same-aged schoolmates during the pauses.

Meidinger demands a comprehensive pedagogical and educational offensive. He declared politicians, teachers and parents should be called for action equally.
